Malaysia Police

It is going to be the end of the year. The 2011 is going to be history and the 2012 is replacing the old.

But how the local police force is going to protect the people in Malaysia?

Just from the recent case, the lorry theft is solved. The thief could steal a lorry within 5 minutes and the police took months to get the case solved.

The police caught the thief, like the Hollywood movie, they called for press conference to demonstrate how the theft case was but alas, our police force lack the Agatha Christine solving skills.

Just wish the Malaysia police force or PDRM can be more professional, don't live in the 60s anymore. If there is no demand, there is no supply. If the police can go to the buyers and prosecute them for buying 'barang' the stolen goods, I think there would be no theft.

Getting to the source is the most vital issue. Perhaps, those who buy the stolen goods are the big gangsters and the police force in Malaysia is afraid of them.

Really have to reconsider the police force of Malaysia.

The notorious Geng Azlan was busted during police raids in Kuala Selangor and Tanjung Karang, Selangor and Selekoh, Perak. It is learnt that the gang would dismantle lorry parts at oil palm estates before selling them to estate workers. The gang would also sell each lorry for between RM3,000 and RM6,000 after altering the chassis and registration number.

Yes, why must be all learn English ? I have no money to travel to England or other English speaking countries. But English is not able to use in Thailand, Indonesia etc.

Why we do not have the choice to pick the language that we want ? I would like to learn Tamil if I am not forced to learn English.

I always fancy Ramayana and wish to read more in the original form of the text. Perhaps, I should learn Sanskrit. But, do the school system allow me to do so ?

I am not a printer neither my family members are in the printing sector. I am from low income group to be more accurate.

Of late, there were friends who were talking about the reading should go electronic and all kinds of devices they can mention are from the West.

Now, do you blindly following the what the Westerners were saying ?

Common, give it a thought and think creatively.

Who uses the most paper ? In the western countries or in Asia ?

So they produce the reading machine, in all kinds of names like kindle etc and with the beautifully craved name of environmental protection.

Think, once the printing machine is out of the market and these companies so called technology are in controlling.

Without electricity you cannot charge the battery of the reader device. The device will keep upgrading and you have to keep on emptying your pocket in order to read.

With a paper book, what you can do, almost everywhere you can read as long as there is light.

Chinese has produced bamboo paper long time ago and the paper books retained for hundreds of years.

Look, they support the abolish the teaching of Maths and Science in English and later support the PAGE. Making English a pass in SPM. Hold it, you think all Malaysians are going to study in the expensive countries ? Look at the tuition fee in United Kingdom, 7500 pounds

7. Oil palm fruit sent to Mill In Felda Kemahang, Kelantan. Felda lost the case as it was proved that Felda was not Paying the proper amount sent to mill. It was a landmark case. Instead of respecting the court's Decision you made a silly remark like Felda will engage the best lawyers & fight all the Remaining cases in court. Look at our ministers, include LGE, how many are the graduates of foreign universities. Thus they can now hold the post.

Is it true that English is the international language ? Take a look of the ASEAN countries, how many countries list English as the national language? Don't be fooled by the scenario of the tourist destinations. We talk about real life.

I don't have much money to send my future generation to tuition school, to universities in the foreign land. It is very unfair for my future generation have no time to read books and reflects, no time to learn more skills like painting, singing,dancing and other sports activities because they have to spend time to memorise the irregularity pattern of English beginning with the go, went, gone.

With English you take away the sunshine and smile of my children.

Certainly, this is not going to work for Sarawak or Sabah which were long colonised by the British and look at Baru Bian, who is also an overseas graduate, Would he consider to start a team of expert to research into using Esperanto language for unity ? My doubt is there.

But for me, Penang is where my two votes are.

Just giving 100 ringgit for the senior citizens are not enough. We talk about equality and fairness. Life quality is of utmost important. I do not want my future generation to suffer psychology problems.

I am a Malaysian. I want my ID card to state my race.

Many propose to drop the ID section of race. They said you can know the person from the name, the look and the religion. Ya, I would propose to drop the religion in the ID. We are born not to choose our sexual preference as well as religion. But some religions are bounded to the new born. Is that fair for the baby to choose his/her religion when he/she is not even able to speak a word.
The race is important as the DNA cannot be changed. The cure of many diseases are due to the DNA. Read the Science Alert magazine.

Of course, like Reduan Tee Abdullah, he would love to do away with the bangsa in his ID. He would be easily to melt into the Melayu as a adopted son of the Malay family. We see many Chinese and Indians are being adopted by the Malay families especially the baby girls.
But, many do not know that DNA is vital, we cannot change the DNA as Dr M he did. But he still can profess to be a part of Malay as he has that DNA but not Reduan Tee.

In China, the ID still state the race. They know what and who you are. Discrimination still practises in China though.

The new development in science has stated that DNA can be a cause of many diseases.

It should be a fair society to all races. Not that you do away in the ID card of the race column that the fairness will be there. Please be matured especially the politicians.

You can do away with the bangsa, the unfair laws and rules even constitutions are still there, will that solve the problem?

This kind of ranking is almost you have the money, you put more advertisement and you can get more publicity but the quality is a question.

Esperanto University by UEA , possible ?

Sunday is always the coffee time with friends. But today is a heavy-heart ones.

Well, the end of the year, all the major examinations are one after the other. The teenage growing parents have even heavy burden as the kids are going to universities or go to the labour market. As usual, all parents want their children to go to the universities so that they can get a good job.

While in the discussion, I popped up with a question: How nice if there is an Esperanto university.

This interest the parents. More questions followed but I could not answer much though I supported the learning of Esperanto. I don't think it will go wrong as it is the aim of UNESCO.
I could told them that it is an easy language to learn.

'What is the point for an easy learning language but no where it can be used.'

Well, I really can't answer this question. It is only that I can say is what I can get from the website:

One father was annoyed. His boy is good at History but weak at English. Of course, it is good at his mother tongue, that is Chinese. Now, he is completing his high school soon, in a month or so. Where would he go ? China or Taiwan. But these two countries, still need English. The father was angry and he f**ked the English language.

You search the net, most testimonies are saying that they can learn esperanto within 6 months. But, what after that ? Can they get a job with the language they learn ?

Now, the world is border less. There are distance learning universities from the famous one to the newly form with internet as a main medium.

Now, the head of mine, crazy though come to think of a solution for the low lingusitic students and the UEA.

The suggestion is simple, that UEA can conduct the Online University. Of course, there are many Esperanto associations in the world, not in Malaysia, of course. Theses Esperanto associations can provide the tutorial classes.

By doing so, Esperanto is not a language for hobby only, it becomes a source for training and building human capital for many countries.

Many courses from University of London external are being held in private colleges in Malaysia. These course not only provide employment for the locals but also helping the country to train more quality human resources.

If London University can do well in its external in the world, why UEA cannot do it ?

You can talk till the cow comes home how good Esperanto is, but it cannot help to bring back the rice to feed the family. But English yes, at least in Malaysia. It is also in other ASEAN countries. Look at the tuittion classes of English, one can know how well this colonial language can bring the benefit to the people.

I don't know how feasible the UEA can read it, or other esperantists can translate it, though I am using the translator to do it, hope it carry the statement that I want to make.

Many conversation in facebook or twitters are easily searched and there the Esperantists are not thinking of making money to help more people by way of Esperanto.

I am not a business man. I don't have the money to invest.

It is the conscious of the UEA and other esperantists to realise that they cannot take Esperanto as a hobby but helping many people in the rural areas as well as those who cannot command English, at least in Malaysia.

Yes, Syed, I agree with you that the Malays need help. But it is not the kind of help that you are thinking about. The help the Malays need is to help them free their minds from outdated religious superstition and from the belief in folklore and myths, which they have accepted as the indisputable word of God.

Let me offer you one example. Most Malays would never eat pork. In fact, if you invite them for dinner and you have a roast suckling pig in the middle of the table they would get most offended.
However, if you have bottles of wine, beer, whisky, brandy, etc. on the table they would not mind. Just make sure there is no roast suckling pig. The liquor is okay. Many Malays would even join you for a drink. A bit of wine, a glass of beer, or a peg or two of hard liquor is not a problem. But please, no pork.
Why do Malays foam at the mouth and get extremely upset when you ‘show them no respect’ by serving pork? But why do they not show the same unhappiness when it comes to spirits? And why would they not allow a morsel of haram meat (even beef or chicken not ‘properly’ slaughtered) to touch their lips but have no problem downing gallons of beer, wine and whatnot?

The Chinese do not stop to think about God too much. They just go out and make money and once a year during Chinese New Year they devote to God. That is why the Chinese are successful, economically at least.
The Indians appeal to God every day but God Samy Vellu just enriches himself, his friends and his family and ignores the Indian community. But the Indians do not appear to see that God helps those who help themselves. You can’t expect others to help you. If India maintained that same level of thinking as the Malaysian Indians then India would probably still be a British colony until today.
The Malays know that praying alone does not help (they need to help themselves) so they go out and steal all the money (help themselves to the taxpayers’ funds) and then fly off to Mekah to pray for forgiveness and then come home to enjoy their ill-gotten gains

Great, it is hard to search the info of Esperanto development, but it is great to see the ASEAN members doing well in this area.

As the Esperanto flag is green, and there is a suggestion to Vietnam Esperanto Association to seek work with Milo, the drink also come in green. They go well.

The project can be the advertisment, the business man loves advertisments. The drink is almost in all ASEAN countries, thus they can place the advertisment for the UK 2010 in Vietnam.

As dealing with the BIG company, everything has to be planned ahead, 2012, well, still have time, just get in touch with the Milo company in Vietnam and there it goes.

Can esperanto survive ( I think this is more appropraite than live) in Malaysia ?

Well, I do not know. It is upon the wish of the Esperantists. Thus far, I know the European are fighting for it in the EU parliement but in Asia, it is depending on how the people, like Europeans understand the function of it.

But, I can assure you that Esperanto can survive in Penang if you throw a million Euros into Penang state, build a technical college and a university in Penang state, the esperanto will prosper.

You better be quick to see Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister to discuss to work together with the state, as I have mentioned in earlier post that, all people from the ASEAN countries will come to study. Perhaps , even as far as latin America or Africa will come to.

What to make it survive is the money, $$$$$, this talks much as many have question why a person konw esperanto cannot get job but a person with bad English can get job.

Many esperantists are proud of George Soros, and in my earlier post did mentione that if he set his wealth of 1 % to promote esperanto, it might be half of the world know the existence of Esperanto.

Now you walk on the street in Penang or Butterworth, just make a survey, with one question:
Do you know esperanto ?

The answers would be varied and some are even a big joke by saying. Oh is it a brand of food ?

That is why I am not too keen in learning esperanto though I support it to be prosper. Life is a reality. I don't live in fantasy of saying esperanto how good it is and in reality, with a certificate, till now, no standard test yet for esperanto but Klingo yes, the person holds a certificate cannot get a job.

My innocence reason is that not too many countries would like to give up the dominated languages, like China, if she promote Esperanto in the country, she has to give back the 55 ethnic languages to the people, the position of Han language, or Chinese language would be lowered. For the 55 ethnic people, they are good but for the dominance race Han, it would be disastrous. The fact is also apply to Malaysia. But looking at the history of Malaysia, esperantists should have more confidence in Malaysia than China.

You continued with your battles with the Bar Council in 1992 when you proposed Justice Minister Syed Hamid Albar to be made president of the Bar Council.
Secondly, the growth of Zaid Ibrahim & Co to become Malaysia's biggest legal firm. As much as I would like to think that Zico was a success on its own, many have pointed out that your firm was rewarded with contracts following your support for Mahathir during the judicial crisis and the Umno split.
Is it true you benefitted from Umno through the awards of contracts from UEM and Bakun? I remember you were even investigated for insider trading with Bashir Ismail and Bank Bumiputera chairperson and Renong Berhad executive chairperson, Halim Saad.
Thirdly, your love-hate relationship with PKR. My friends in Gerakan informed me that you considered joining Gerakan before actually joining PKR. I congratulate you for having that courage.
But shortly after being appointed to the Political Bureau, you then expressed your desire to take a six-month leave. Subsequently you returned to the Political Bureau. Yet you continued blogging against the party leadership.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for freedom of speech but also there should be collective responsibility. Why, if you are really unhappy with PKR, accept the nomination for Hulu Selangor and subsequently as Wilayah Perseketuan PKR chief?
While you have criticised the party at many junctures, I believe to be fair, the party has given you many responsibilities in spite of being new and critical. It would be good once in a while for you to have something good to say to friends who have been in the party much longer than you have.

After the Allllllaaaahhhhh case, now we have the mosque problem.

I feel extremely sad that my fellow Muslims who are Malays would stoop so
low to politiciasing Islam in this manner that puts all Muslims in a bad light.
Those who are actually antagonistic towards Islam perhaps feel so when treated
in this manner. We have seen so many shameful issues of stepping on a cow's
head, of the restriction of the 'Allah' phrase, of making supplication for
non-Muslim leaders and the over-sanctification of mosques by the Malays for
cheap political agendas that I wonder no more why Islam is being hated with a
vengeance.

For the sake of our children and all Muslims in the future, we should
stop these efforts of using Islam for economic or political agendas by
instigating and flaring up controversial issues such as these. Once again in the
annals of Malaysia, Islam is being 'racialised' or 'Melayu-nized' to rally
support for private agendas of political leaders with questionable repute.

In this regard, the Malay newspapers have shown a complete lack of
professionalism as well as ethical practices that puts the lives of our future
generations in jeopardy. Never have I been ashamed to be considered a Malay in
times like these.

Both my parents are Malay. My mum's heritage includes Chinese, Thai and Arab, while my dad is Minangkabau. Due to my skin colour, I am often mistaken for a Chinese.

I'm happy that I don't have the typical Malay look but I do get annoyed when people call me Ah Moi or ask me straight up "Are you Chinese or Malay"

Like, why does it matter? Before I used to answer "Malay" but now I'm trying to consciously answer Malaysian instead.

There's this incident from primary school that I remember till today. Someone told me that I will be called last during Judgement Day because I don't have a Muslim name. Of course, I was scared then but now that I'm older, I realise that a name is just a name. It doesn't define you as a good or bad person and there is definitely no such thing as a Muslim name. You can be named Rashid or Ali and still be a Christian.

I've heard of the 1Malaysia concept, but I think we don't need to be told to be united. We've come such a long way that it should already be embedded in our hearts and minds that we are united. Unfortunately, you can still see racial discrimination and polarisation. There is still this ethno-centric view that the Malays are the dominant group and their rights must be protected, and non Malays are forever the outsiders.

For the concept to succeed, I think the government should stop with the race politics. It's tiring, really. We grew up with application forms asking us to tick our race. We should stop painting a negative image of the other races, stop thinking about 'us' and 'them' and focus on 'we', 'our' and 'Malaysians'.

No one should be made uncomfortable in their own home. A dear Chinese friend of mine said to me once, "I don't feel patriotic because I am not made to feel like Malaysia is my home, and I don't feel an affinity to China because I have never lived there.

I know some baby Nyonya friends who can trace their lineage back hundreds of years. I'm a fourth generation Malaysian. If I am Bumiputra, why can't they be, too? Clearly I have issues with the term.

I think the main reason why we still can't achieve total unity is because of this 'Malay rights' concept. I'd rather 'Malay rights' be replaced by human rights. So unless we get rid of this Bumiputra status, or reform our views and policies on rights, we will never achieve unity.
For my merdeka wish, I'd like for Malaysians to have more voice, to be respected and heard. I wish that the government would uphold the true essence of parliamentary democracy. I wish for the people to no longer fear and discriminate against each other, to see that we are one and the same.

I wish that Malaysia would truly live up to the tourism spin of Malaysia truly Asia. Malaysians to lead - whatever their ethnic background. Only ONE NATIONALITY MALAYSIAN. No Malays, No Chinese, No Indians - ONLY MALAYSIANS. Choose whatever religion one is comfortable with.

All state religious departments need to possess a common approach to tarawih prayers during Ramadhan.
We need to adopt the Meccan approach, where tarawih begins immediately after the isha and sunnat prayers.
What we observe taking place in this country is contrary to the practice of the Prophet (s.a.w.) or the Caliph Sayyidna Umar (r.a.). In our case there are tahlil recitations for the deceased after isha prayers followed by a short talk.
All these are 'inventions' (bid'ah). They are time-consuming. People turn up for the tarawih prayers. They have a tight schedule involving working hours, the need to rest, to wake up for sahur, pray at subuh and then rush off to work.

How much can Esperanto help to save Malaysians pocket

Someone left me a massage asking how much the Malaysia will gain if Malaysia introduce the ESPERANTO, not counting ASEAN lah, the ASEAN heads are all sleeping, as the words said, well, this termasuk (include) Malaysia lah.

HAHA, BIG BRO or small bro or sisters you are. I am not economist lah. Besides I did not have the data of Malaysia also in the spending on the goods from overseas but only can think of the easy one that you and I can hear daily-- the advertisements.

The advertisements in Malaysia are very special ones. They use multi-linguals, ranging from Malay, Chinese—cantonese, min nan(hokkien) to English. Of course, those less fortune ones, the orang asli, hakka, teochew etc can not have their dialects in the advertisements.

Don;t get Patrik Teoh to voice over, it is very expensive. Just by doing all the advertisements with different ethnic, the commercial firm, for example a coffee will charge the consumers more than single esperanto advertisement. I wondered did GRIN count on the Europe advertisements too.

The advertisement come with a detergent must have different faces to fill the ethnic dialogue. Mana ada 1Malaysia( where is the 1Malaysia) There cannot be neigbours of different races discussing about the detergent? Huh. The producers of the detergent, serbuk cuci, of course, does not mind lah. All the expenses will be shouldered by the consumers.

This is what I can think of if Esperanto can help to save cost for Malaysians.

It is not know for me. Maybe the culture difference or maybe some other things in it.

If the report is that true that teaching esperanto can save European countries that much of money, why won't do it ? To my knowledge that Poland, the birth place of Esperanto is not paying attention to the language Esperanto which has that kind of economy value.

It is good that Esperanto is not spread via gun and canon, however, it must have some economy value thus people would use it.

Just wait for the esperantists in the European countries to enlighten us .:)

We pay € 17 THOUSAND MILLION each year into the British economy!

Dear Member of Parliament,

October 2005 saw the publication of a particularly interesting report, accessible in French at
http://cisad.adc.education.fr/hcee/documents/rapport_Grin.pdf, by the Swiss Professor François Grin.

The most startling conclusion of the report is that, due to the current dominant position of the English language, the United Kingdom gains € 17-18 thousand million each year, which is more than three times the famous British rebate, or 1% of its GNP. In other words, each of the 394 million non-English-speaking citizens of the EU, including those from the poorest new Member States, are subsidising the British economy!

This amount comes from the sale of books and other goods relating to the English language, from the 700
000 people each year who go to Britain to learn English, as well as from the savings that stem from the
neglect of foreign-language teaching in British schools. This does not account for all of the languagerelated
economic transfers to the United Kingdom but for 75% of them, which the author sees as the fruit
of the hegemony of English and not just of the demographic weight of the language itself.
François Grin who is a professor at the University of Geneva and a specialist in the economics of
language, has released an extensive dossier in which he analyses the language policy of the European
Union. The study was commissioned and published by the French Haut Conseil de l'évaluation de
l'école (High Council for School Evaluation) - an independent public body which evaluates and analyses
the state of teaching in France.
The report poses the question "What would be the optimum choice for working languages in the European
Union?
A more equitable system would save the EU at least € 25 thousand million annually!
The Swiss economist proposes a comparison between three possible scenarios:
1. English as the sole language,
2. multilingualism,
3. Esperanto as an internal working language the EU institutions.
The third option, Esperanto, comes out as the least expensive and most equitable, but Grin believes it is
not currently viable because of the strong prejudices against Esperanto based on simple ignorance. He
believes, however, that it is strategically possible for a new generation, on two conditions:
• a sustained large-scale information campaign throughout the EU about language inequality and
Esperanto,
• the cooperation of all Member States in the campaign.
This could lead to net annual savings for the EU of approximately € 25 thousand million! "That is
directly and manifestly to the advantage of 85% of the population of the 25 states", Professor Grin
claims.

This lady of Esperanto was very annoyed when she told her friends in the tour industry in Malaysia or Thailand that the tour industry will be opened up to another sector of tourists, these tourists are from the Esperanto speakers.

Jiminy Qrikert Only RM100,000? Geez, that's not Najib's style. Someone must have screwed up big time to only channel RM100,000. That's only 0.0038sen from each of 26mil Malaysians. Now, RM1.5mil is really more his style - and that works out to 0.058sen from each of 26mil Rakyat. But hey, that's only the sum of price hike of just 1 liter of Ron 95. No big deal. How about RM100mil to send a tourist to space? That works out to RM3.85 from each Malaysian. Now, with the price hike of 0.05sen per litre of RON 95, that works out to 76.9 liters per Malaysian. At 26million, that works out to 2 billion liters of RON 95. So, it takes 0.05sen INCREASE in RON 95 to pay for a stupid venture like sending a tourist to space costing the Rakyat RM100mil. So, maybe that's why we now have to pay the 0.05sen increase for petrol - because Najib doesn't care how he blows our money! Bangkit Melayu!
