I wonder the ulamas in Malaysia have got any professional degree in religion studies?
Now, Pak Lah, you must make the comparison of religion studies a part of those in the Islamic as well as non Islamic religion courses.
We are all brothers and sisters in the land called Malaysia. And we cannot celebrate the festive season together. I could not imagine, many brothers and sisters can not go home to be with the love ones because it is the religion that separated the love.
Isn't the religion teaching us to love and share the resources on the earth ? Pak Lah, your department has to be tough to face the challenge and these are from the previous government from yours and you knew them too well.
Restrict the post of ulamas and other religions so that only the truly professional spiritual leaders are allowed to hold the post but not the politicians of the religions.
Besides, all the religion leaders should not be awarding the Datuk or whatsoever. They are the spiritual healers, they don't need all the titles for the business shakes.
It is a disgraceful acts of those irresponsible ones trying to cause another problem for the peaceful Malaysia.
The Star Online > Nation Friday June 16, 2006 PM: Kongsi-Raya celebrations will continue KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has rejected a call by some Islamic clerics that Muslims must not join Kongsi-Raya festivals. Abdullah said the government doesn't think participating in such events would shake the faith of Malaysia's majority Malay Muslims. "These have become social events held without any rituals related to religion ... we can continue with them. "There is no need for a polemic that could create many interpretations to confuse the situation,'' Abdullah told reporters. - AP Related Stories:Is our faith that fragile?Poll: Most readers disagree with muftiPAS also doesn’t favour Kongsi RayaBack up claims, ulamas toldUlamas want kongsi raya celebrations reviewed © 1995-2005 Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd (Co No 10894-D)
