Pre-marital HIV tests for Muslims--what about other races

See, it is sensitive to say which groups,of course, muslim means all the races like the Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadzan etc etc.

So, some are crying foul that this is a conytravene to the human right, oh dear, this is a good cause for the country and the people. There is a price for it if law does not intervene.

China has made blood test before marriage a compulsulary but still have many defect borm babies.

In this case, it should also include non muslim for the blood test. Just do not know what can throw the love out of the window as a reader wrote to The People's paper--The Star.

Think of the family and the country that are going through, those sane people would agree to the blood test. But alas, non muslim has to pay for it.

Why not open to all to have the test for free. of course for the gays and lesbian, the free test is on in Pink Traingle Foundation.

Come on la, for those who are aginst it, think about it that your house would have a defected born baby, what do you feel.

We should ask for non discrimination act but not too emotional into what the human right. Aiyo, too far out liao. If one contacted of HIV due to the bad living style, he/she should be borne to be suffer but not hidding the fact and pass down the virus to the innocent and more to suffer and the cost of medical cares from the government is huge.

Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz said all state religious authorities agreed to implement and enforce the ruling in a meeting in July.
However, Wan Mohamad said those found to have been infected with the AIDS would still be allowed to continue with the marriage if both partners wanted to go ahead.
“The couples will not be stopped if they want to go through it. In fact, state religious authorities will play their role in assisting such couples by giving them counselling and advice on preventive measures, and on how to prepare themselves physically and mentally.
“The HIV test will be offered to Muslims free of charge,” he told Berita Harian.
The daily also reported that Rela officers would be roped in to monitor activities at all 67 Puspakom branches nationwide after an earlier operation received positive feedback from the public.
Its chief executive officer Datuk Salamat Wahit said the idea would be implemented after the festive season and that Rela personnel currently stationed at five Puspakom branches were helpful.
“We think this is a good idea as an immediate measure to deter touts at Puspakom,” he said.
