Right, Nigel, one thing you overlooked is the British forced the Malaysians to change the names from the tribal language to Christian names because the colonial British wanted to white wash all into their people but they forget the DNA cannot be changed.
However, now in Malaysia, most religious are also doing this way. Taking the biggest religion sect in Malaysia, they also do not allow the followers to name in their own tribal language. Of course, some names are made up to sound nice but without meaning.
The worst part of all is Dr M, the former PM of Malaysia changed the tribal of Malay into something different. As least, the non greedy Indian muslim do not accept that 5% of offer and maintain their names.
Religion can be changed a hundred times, however, the DNA is a life time, no medical science can change it. But the medical doctor, Dr M is not feeling shame for his wrongdoings .
