Kereta Tanah Malayu Berhad (KTMB) should seriously consider opening up a new komuter line, which might be the last one to serve the residents between Tanjung Malim and Ipoh.
The komuter line from Butterworth to Ipoh which runs about 200km long is a good service and now it is picking up with more passengers traveling to Taiping and Ipoh. The distance from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh is shorter than Butterworth to Ipoh, 132 km.
Train travelling is safe and fast now with komuter service, it is especially good for the senior citizens. They can go for visiting friends or having a short distance travelling.
Of course, the schools , primary and secondary can also do a sight visiting to various places.
Other benefits would improve the food industries in Ipoh as well as Tanjung Malim, of course other places which are like Kuala Kangsar, changing the komuter to the north.
Of course the Batu Gajah is not to forget.

It might be cheaper to swim in Ipoh swimming for the Kampar, Batu Gajah residents. This might be same as the residents in Tanjung Malim, RM10 per entry.
Swimming is the best exercise, the train drivers should go swimming too. Of course, other staff .

Besides, the KTMB does not have to provide the extra ETS trips during the festival seasons, those could not get the ETS tickets can take the commuter train from KL to Tanjung Malim, from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh, from Ipoh to Butterworth or Padang Besar.
No one complains about the change of flight as travelling with plane is a more high class mode. Malaysians need to change.
