Parti Sosialis Malaysia can capture more voters with a small act

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) was formed two decades ago with another name.

Now it is time for this political party to spread the wings to save the health of the people via small steps which the current government is not interested despite we have urged it many times.

How PSM can do it with about RM1000 a month to spread the information that PSM is not only fighting in courts for poor people but really care about the health of the senior citizen.

There are only two public swimming pools in Perak state, one is in Kuala Kangsar, the other is the famous SUKMA sports center.

Unfortunately, this swimming pool in Kuala Kangsar most of the time is closed for repairing.

The old method using the tiles to build the swimming pool is in the history, nowadays, swimming pool is build with fiberglass. There fiberglass swimming pool builders in Malaysia.

The other is the MBI sports complex swimming pool.

From the above website, you can see the entrance fee for the public, OKU is free all the time, however, the price discrimination for the other categories is ONE ringgit extra. Can government of Perak earn much with that increase of ONE ringgit or a swim wear advertisement board standing in the compound would be sufficient for all the senior citizen entrance fees. The management of the pool from MBI certainly did not watch the world aquatic events with tons of advertisement boards around the pool which cost in millions of ringgit for display.

Here the PSM can do to prove that swimming is the best exercise and can help the government to save tons of money for the medicine cost.

1. the senior citizens can bring the entrance tickets to claim for the cost of entrance at the PSM office once a month. We have asked the senior citizens at the MBI pool, how many times a week that they go swimming for health. On average, the most hard working ones go 4 times a week, from Tuesday to Friday as Saturday and Sunday are too crowded.

1a. 30 senior citizens per day go swimming would be 30 x 2 per day, the total is 60 ringgit. The monthly amount is about below ONE thousand ringgit a month.

2.  Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj was a medical doctor before, he should know the benefits of swimming, even he did not know it, he can do a research on swimming and mental health which have been done in many parts of the world, search YouTube, swimming, mental health you can see many information on this.

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jeyakumar_Devaraj

2a. Michael is not in the government now he would have difficulties to obtain the information from the hospital, but one which is a very good one would be Hospital Bahagia, which houses the severe mental health problem patients. select a few with least problem and go swimming daily to see the changes which would be over years. Michael needs to get a team from the medical professional to assist on this research and publish it on the international or local medical journal.

3. other health benefits are the high blood pressure, cholesterol, that most senior citizens are suffering. Design a record form for the senior citizens to participate in the research and hand in the form when collecting the tickets subsidies.

3a just swimming is not enough, it has to come in with dietary change. Senior citizens are hard to change, smoking, drinking, meat eating etc bad habits are lots. Select those who are willing to change, of course, the concept of such research should also change to swim for health. Do not throw the money in the dust bin by just subsidsing the senior citizens who are not willing to change and help the country to change.

The late LEE Kuan Yew swam daily and now Singapore Island has 25 public swimming pools which open as early as 6 am for swimmers, no lifeguards. Singapore swimming pools which are not for competition purposes are not built with Olympic standard, it is mainly for endurance training for the swimmers.

Of course, PSM has sponsors to look for especially in areas which are not having swimming, building a half Olympic size swimming pool won't cost lots, we have detailed it in our blog posts that no need of changing rooms and bathrooms.

If the KTMB could change the Komuter route from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh, it could bring more people to go swimming. Now, the senior citizens can travel by Komuter from Sungai Siput to Ipoh for a swim. Sungai Siput has private pools which charge high entrance fees.

Within the service of MyBas, senior citizens can us the free bus card. Getting 50 persons for the research is easy.

We can't help much for the folks in Perak as we are not too familiar with the political system. PSM Penang can do a research too by subsidising the senior citizens who go to Relau Swimming Pool. The only swimming pool which has the lowest senior citizen entrance fee, RM3.50. https://www.swimmingschool.com.my/guide/relau-swimming-pool/

You can see the information from the East to West but nothing much from Malaysia even just to translate it. If the research were good from PSM project, the whole world would know the benefits of swimming at the same time PSM in Malaysia. Those in the academic fields know what we are talking about.
