Swimming: Uneven development of sports in Malaysia

It is absurd to keep pumping money into soccer to show the world, the soccer field is great in Malaysia.

Once upon a time, Malaysia reigned the soccer field in South East Asia. But that was in the past. Not many countries were rich enough to support all forms of sports. However, other countries have grown, Malaysia is still sleeping, pumping in more money for nothing.

Soccer is the big money game. Need lots of players and much effort. Why Singapore is not focussing in football but instead in swimming.

In the mixed competition events, medals counts. How many medal one country gets, the tally goes up.

One football team needs 11 players on the ground not including the reserve players at the side of football field.

These 11 players can be in 11 events in swimming, If the divers, especially well trained, the 11 medals are in the pocket.

Singapore did not shine in water polo either. As water polo needs seven players, it is almost half of the football team .

Now Malaysia needs to recruit the foreign players. It even provides citizenship. It must be a big joke that in 320 million people, cannot find 20 talented soccer players. You think about it, where the system goes wrong.

The main concern is can the award money from the games enough to pay the foreign soccer players. Again taxpayers money are withdraw to pay for the lost.

If Malaysia were so crazy about the fame but not the quality of life in Malaysia, all sports should recruit the foreign talents.

Sports are the health concern. As we have said it, the management of the swimming pool should not be sleeping.
