The 2026 Asia Games is in Japan, a rich county plus high technology. They are too smart not to waste too much money and the facilities can be turned into white elephants.
How to turn the venues into money?
Normally, the government would make it for the tourism.
Anticipation is building in Nagoya ahead of the Asian Games opening ceremony on Sep 19, with more than 17,000 competitors and officials from 45 countries expected. But organisers face concerns over temporary athlete accommodation and the threat of a typhoon, while recent rainfall has already disrupted some competition schedules. More than 300 Singapore athletes will compete across 27 sports. CNA's Alif Amsyar reports from Nagoya.
It depends on the population one country has. China still can attract the tourists from the country to visit the bird nest stadium. If this would be in a small country, no one would fly into see the venue especially not the sport fans.
