On 31 August 1963, the British territories in North Borneo and Singapore were granted independence and formed Malaysia with the Peninsular states on 16 September 1963.

Malaysia will not have the indepence day but the formation day, though Sabah and Sarawak gained the freedom but they joined the Malaya. Now, the word -- Malaya is no longer exsit, only in history textbook, but Malaysia , is, yes, lively and will be in new format soon.
