The Esperanto movement in Medan, wow, is more than half a century, it was even earlier than the formation of Malaya. Certainly, it would be much better as Indonesia gained independence earlier than Malaya peninsula.
Now, would many think Esperanto would not be the major language in this country ?
With the halt of teaching English in primary school, it would be possible to introduce Esperanto into the Indonesian school system. If the country was not being lead by the corrupted government in the past, I think Indonesia is now better than Singapore.
One must be reminded that it is not easy to manage a country has more than 6000 islands without bridges.
I wish the people of Medan would build up the Esperanto movement soon and Penang is such a near neighbour of Sumatra, ASEAN will be an Esperanto zone soon.
