Certainly, Malaysia has the potential for the ecotoruism,but look at what the government officers are doing. You should know the result.
In order to get the name as the ecotourism, they would cut down more trees and bulldoze the place to make it beautiful in the view of the standard city folks.
Come on, you are going for the ecotour and you want this and that like those in the city.
The resolution, entitled, “Promotion of ecotourism for poverty eradication and environment protection”, calls on UN Member States to adopt policies that promote ecotourism highlighting its “positive impact on income generation, job creation and education, and thus on the fight against poverty and hunger”.
It further recognizes that “ecotourism creates significant opportunities for the conservation, protection and sustainable use of biodiversity and of natural areas by encouraging local and indigenous communities in host countries and tourists alike to preserve and respect the natural and cultural heritage”.
Worst is when the capitalist investors come in, the government would allow to build hotels and good facilities for the guests.
I wish Pakatan would change this scenario when they come to power.
Truly understand what is ecosystem and what is ecotourism.
