Only the silly Malaysian ministers would keep saying English is vital for investment. Of course, the PAGE too.
But, think and think hard, are all the investors are native speakers of English ?
You know better than I do. There are Japanese, Korean,Chinese etc. Why choose to speak English with Malaysians ?
If you are working for these companies, you should wake up. I don't urge Malaysians to wake up because they have been long poisoned by the past coloniser, the British, that English is good and English is important.
Of course, Malaysians don't read English, they read English but they don't understand.
Therefore, if the investors are not all native speakers of English, why Malaysia politicians like to make that silly statements that English is vital.
Come on, if you are not English native speakers, use Esperanto, it saves you time to learn the colonial language. You are silly to spend more than 10 ten years to learn English. The boss of the foreign investors are also silly to keep the best people out of the workforce just because they cannot speak English.
Those who can good English may not be the best thinking cap in your company.
