Actually not the rich, the rich would not feel anything about teach science and maths in English or in other languages.
Only the fools of the middle class see no future in their social position want to send money to 4 countries in the world, they are USA, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. They can't go to Singapore because their children are not bright enough to have a seat in NUS.

It must be a big joke, English is consider as the global language. English can't be used on the streets in Thailand and other South East Asia and that is global language. Go to Japan and see for yourself.
The editor must have very poor geography knowledge, not knowing the Latin America, the whole Africa countries are not using English to teach science and maths.
It is time, Malaysians should make a petition to take English language out of Malaysia education system. Why English should be made as a second language? This deprive other people to choose the language they like.
Make a survey on the street and see how many people like English.
Kneazle: Both my children were lucky when maths and science were taught in English during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s days as prime minister. One of my children is now an actuary and the other is a chemist in US.This should be a rich family. He could sent two children to USA for further education. Count the cost and you know who like English more.
Many of their classmates, Malays and non-Malays, are working as doctors, pharmacists, and chemists in the UK, Australia, Canada, and in Malaysia as well.
They have Mahathir to thank for the opportunity to study maths and science in English as they didn't have much difficulty doing their undergraduate courses in English.
Whatever the Malay-Muslim government wants to do with the education system is not my worry anymore. My future generation is finding better opportunity overseas.
