The minister of housing, Mr NGA went all the way to Singapore to learn about the HDB flat system in Singapore. How intelligent he is, it is up to you to see and judge .
What Mr NGA saw was the awards received by the Singapore Housing Development Board on the HDB design . He did not see the land and the space of Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore is slightly bigger than Penang Island but smaller than the Penang state.
Why there need to have all kinds of arguments instead of the passing of housing in parliament that :
Each citizen of Malaysia is only be allowed to own a house regardless of the sizes, including the disable people.

Of course, the politicians are afraid of the middle class. The wealthy ones do not buy many houses like the middle class, stock up the houses for rent collection or so called investment. The wealthy ones know that keeping many houses is a burden, they would have the big one,a million ringgit a house with a small swimming pool.
Now you can see the solving housing problem is just simple with the passing of housing act.
