Bumiputra will never achieve the high standard in Malaysia.
Look at how the word is defined:
The concept of a bumiputra ethnic group in Malaysia was coined by Abdul Razak Hussein. It recognised the "special position" of the Malays provided in the Constitution of Malaysia, in particular Article 153. However, the constitution does not use the term bumiputra; it defines only "Malay" and "aboriginal peoples" (Article 160(2)),[5] "natives" of Sarawak (161A(6)(a)),[6] and "natives" of Sabah (Article 161A(6) (b)).[6] Definitions of bumiputra in public use vary among different institutions, organisations, and government departments and agencies.

The definition is so wide, at times, interchange to accomplish the aim of the group, especially the Malay groups to get the privileges.
Taking all the amount of Bumiputras in Malaysia, especially the Malays, who are not pure Malays, Melayu bukan tulin, to buckle up for the amount of Malays as Malaysia is still practising the racial domination. There is a majority win system.
How the New Economy Policy has destroyed the competitive spirits of the Malays, this policy helps nothing to the indigenous people in Malaysia.
If the Melayu bukan tulin dare to get themselves out of the group, Bumiputra, you can see the difference of it.
Next, is to be in listed company means it is successful in life ?
If there were millions of Bumiputras who are millionaires but not in listed companies, would that mean the Bumiputras are not successful ? Looking at the government servant, how many percents of real Bumiputras are in it?
We would like to suggest to our readers, when you read a news report on such titles , you have to think twice, if Abdul Wahid Omar could not reason well.

Why Malaysia can not progress is because the politicians are playing with the racial issues. This is a case of it. Read the history of Abdul Wahid Omar, you know why he could leave the races out in looking the successful people, in various sectors, instead focus on one race, which is not correctly termed.
