It is nothing new, if the ruling government of Pakatan Harapan had listen to the United Nations to switch planting rice to planting millets, the 2.5 billion ringgit subsidy would have saved and used for upgrading the hospital and schools. https://malaysiakusayang.blogspot.com/2025/10/budget-26-billion-ringgit-vs-millets.html
We do not ask for a big change, all rice farmers change to plant millets immediately, but in the form of gradual process, putting Malaysia into the world millet exporting country.
A quick search show that Malaysia does export millets in 2024 here but how the millets is not sold locally in Malaysia ?
You can see the world in a list, many countries have planted millets but the politicians in Malaysia are still in the dark.
Now, we hope Bersama can take Malaysia to another export items. Bersama members can act now. Rent the paddy fields in Kedah and start immediately of planting millets and see the results in a few months. Of course, can return the land to the rice farmers later.
You keep your fingers crossed that the Bersama members would do it even those in Kedah and Perlis. Plant the ones which are suitable for the northern peninsula and others in Sabah and Sarawak . Read for the types of millets here in Wikipedia.

What Bersama can do now is to help the rice farmers in Kedah and Perlis to get better life immediate, just for the change of thinking, switching rice planting to millet planting. As such, the PAS members might be switch to support Bersama.
